Hi guys, Mom of 2 here. I had to explore a retractable gate given that the handrail went longer than the spindle on the other side, so I could not have a flat metal gate in this area. The retractable gate gives a little more flexibility on where the hook is on the opposite side. I was a bit worried about whether this would feel sturdy, but I’ve leaned on it, and it seems very sturdy. This was very easy to install, and still looks aesthetically pleasing even when it is open. I love this too because there are different color options to match your finishes which is great. Highly recommend!
